🎬 From Books to Boss Fights: My Editing Journey 🎬
Like every good origin story, mine starts in high school—except instead of learning how to wield a sword or cast magic, I was mastering the dark arts of TV and Broadcast production. My first real grind in video editing began in 2018 with my bookish YouTube channel, where I geeked out over stories with the same enthusiasm some reserve for speedrunning Dark Souls.
By 2021, I had respecced into gaming content, creating videos filled with my own gameplay, commentary, and general nerdy ramblings about video games. That same year, I took on a real-life side quest: Books! (Knihy!)—a video series for the Municipal Library of Prague, where I convinced shy librarians to step out of their NPC roles and talk about their favorite books on camera. It took maxed-out persuasion skills, but I shot, edited, and added some animations to bring the project to life.
Fast forward to 2024, and I’ve had the pleasure of editing a few videos for Nerd Engine, including an April Fools’ special about ahem... let’s just call them “romantically immersive” video games. 👀
These days, my main quest is gaming videos, though my book channel is still hanging on like a player who refuses to let go of their first wooden sword.
I started editing in iMovie, leveled up to Adobe Premiere, and now I’m grinding through the tutorial dungeon of DaVinci Resolve. Wish me luck—I hear the final boss is brutal.
