Just unearthed my oldest review—July 2015, like a lost save file.
As a studied librarian, I started my first blog in 2015, thinking, Hey, maybe I should write about books! I realized there’s zero shame in writing reviews—if countless bloggers with no formal training could do it, why not me? So, I hit "publish" and never looked back.
Somewhere along the way, I discovered the magic of audiobooks (like unlocking fast travel for reading) and started reviewing those too. My early attempts were… let’s say starter-tier gear, but thankfully, the Czech audiobook site Naposlech.cz gave me some much-needed XP in review writing. I wrote for them for years, leveling up my skills one review at a time.
By 2017, I had joined FantasyMag.cz, where I covered books and audiobooks—until 2021, when I respecced into video game reviews, focusing on Nintendo Switch titles with the occasional PC game or book still sneaking in.
These days, I still drop reviews for FantasyMag now and then, but my main quest is creating gaming videos. Recently, I even posted a full game review video on my channel—Mika and the Witch’s Mountain. And trust me, there’s plenty more where that came from.
